The Ogryn half of the Horde has stormed the Emerald Kingdom, and the Eldrin army is in a fighting retreat.
The High Eldrin have been backed all the way to their capital of Aurelis, while Ogryn scouts and raiders pillage the heartlands.
You must stop this.
The Horde's magic shattered most of the bridges, trying and failing to trap the retreating Eldrin. Now the Ogryn have ignored the wreckage, giving you a path to reach Kutath without being spotted by the main enemy force.
Fort Kutath commands a strategic perch over the lake that shares its name, but even so the bastion was lightly defended before the invasion began – it was, after all, far from the front.
No longer. Ulgorim the Horde King must be coordinating his army from nearby. Do not let the fort fall into enemy hands... or, if it is too late, do not let it stay there.
The great city roads lead to Brightwater, the citadel that held the Horde at bay for almost a decade. Those roads were the artery up which the Horde has marched to Kutath and Aurelis. Now, they're the fastest way to Ulgorim.
The city roads, still choked with Horde, are impassable. You will have to wander the vast forests of the Puregrove, which run all the way south to Brightwater. It is not the fastest way, but may be the only one.
The Ogryn and Goblin clans of the Horde subsist chiefly off pillage and theft, but the Puregrove has little to offer. The Ogryn have begun taking the trees themselves. End their sacrilage.
Right on the outskirts of the city of Brightwater, this hidden series of shrines hold the Liferoots that sustain the magic of the Puregrove. So long as the Liferoots remain, the forest can recover. Should they ever burn, the forest will burn with them.
Brightwater only barely stopped the Horde's first invasion, but it was built into a fortress over the last decade. Since then, Brightwater was the line that divided the Emerald Kingdom and the Hordeblight – that divided civilization from barbarity.
The realm beyond Brightwater is called the Hordeblight, and no Eldrin have lived there in almost a decade. All incursions to retake it have been repulsed.
It's been given over to the Horde. Nothing of beauty remains.
The Horde cannot be controlled, save by overwhelming force.
Ulgorim is that force. Without him, the Ogryn army collapses. Without him, the Hordeblight might finally fall.
